Our Story

The 10 Up Studios Story

10 Up studio is a partnership between two long time friends who also work in the music industry. Chuck Ide (Owner of JLC Productions) and Corey Oliver (Owner of Traveler Guitar). We created the 10 Up project as a representation of our passion for music. Both had a long history in Music and the entertainment industry, Corey (Emerson College and KCAL Fm Before owning Traveler Guitar) and Chuck (CBS, and Clear Channel Radio). “We thought it was time to build a real recording / live performance studio in the Inland Valley, no other facility exists in this area of this caliber. And no other community has such a developing music area as Redlands, the University has one of the worlds best music programs.``

Two years ago we both sat down and agreed that the Inland Empire Radio market is so close to Los Angeles, yet really has no real live venues to record content. And the growing music community around Redlands has a real need for a quality recording facility. So it was set in stone- We were building a studio. We did not have a date of construction or a name.
Fast forward two years. The studio is finally finished. Chuck is at lunch with his long time friend Jojo Wright who works as a night DJ at KIIS Fm. And Jojo asks “Where is the studio located in relation to Los Angeles? “ and Chuck Replies “Up the 10 about 60 miles in Redlands” and the name is born. Jojo finishes lunch and says “10 Up studios” So the name is owed to Jojo at KIIS. It just made sense.
